  2. This album includes the familiar "Somebody to Love". Clearly, the band Queen was writing songs for the long term and not just pop hits to get onto the top 40 charts. It holds up well, as most fans could have guessed. So, if you are new to Queen or have forgotten most of its catalog, this album /5().

  3. The second of their "Marx Brothers" albums, `A Day At The Races' illustrates what happens when a highly creative bunch of people get on a roll. After a brief instrumental interlude derived from `Teo Torriarte*' the album grabs hold with the massive rock hit `Tie Your Mother Down' and doesn't let go. If Queen's career had stopped after `ADATR', their legacy would nevertheless be secure as in addition /5().

  8. A Day at the Races is probably meant to be the sequel to Queen's smash, A Night at the Opera, but nothing much has changed. Queen is the least experimental of such groups, probably because their commercial aspirations are the most brazen. They have managed to borrow all that's frothiest from their influences, from the fake-orgasmic vocal.
